Following up on a labor case after traveling to the home country
After working for my employer for nearly two years on an unlimited contract as a COO of a restaurant company, my employer owes me approx 193000, not including notice period.
I have filed a case with the MOHRE. They have tried to contact the employer who has ignored the calls and is also ignoring me.
I know that I will have to escalate the complaint but, based on experience with the way the employer treats past employees and how he ignores suppliers and landlords, it is fair to assume that he will ignore this as well.
I have little options and I have to leave the country as the apartment rent paid by the company expires mid-July. If I leave, can I maintain the complaint, and what is the likelihood of getting the money owed in this scenario when I travel back to the UK?

Please be informed that should the employer fail to attend all of the mediation sessions, you will be provided with a no-objection letter, based on which, you would be able to initiate a labor case in the court.
With regard to your absence, you can issue a Power of Attorney, by virtue of which, we will be able to represent you and recover the dues on your behalf.

First of all, it was an unlimited contract and we have to know the reason for termination. Was it due to COVID 19 or any other factors?
Secondly, the calculation of AED 193,000 is including the end of service and leave?
Thirdly, as you have already complaint to MOHRE, if it is not resolved in the Dispute Resolution, then it must be transferred to the court of Law in UAE, automatically, as a Labor case against the employer.
As the rent contract expires mid-July, it is recommended that you file the Labor case asap. If you leave the country, then with the lawyer's Power of attorney, the case can be carried forward in your absence, since the lawyer will periodically provide you with the updates.
It is certain that you will get your dues and the claim amount.
