How can I make sure whether a job offer is genuine or scam in Dubai?
4
Q: Hi,
I received a job offer in Dubai as an electrical/instrumentation supervisor but I'm just a bit confused for two reasons:
1) The starting monthly salary is AED 93,500.00 plus other benefits of AED 12,000.00
2) The company asked me to pay for the visa and for the work permit in the UAE (the site seems original and genuine..).
The sum would be repaid at the beginning of the work in Dubai.
This is strange because I have never advanced money for a visa in my passport and for a work permit when I worked abroad out of Italy I suppose this is a fake job offer.
Thanks and regards
G.

Q: I got a job offer from one UAE company but I have to pay visa fees as a security which they will return after six months. They will provide me employment offer letter and at the same time I need to pay them visa fees.
I am a bit confused that the offer letter is a legally binding document to claim in future if they will not provide me the job.
Kindly help me to solve my problem. I am on a visit visa in Dubai.

Job offer requires upfront payment for visa. Is this normal?

Q: Hi,
I have received a job offer in Dubai as a Senior Data Analyst for a company based out of India and they interviewed me for the Dubai location.
I'm totally confused as the company asked me to pay for the visa and the work permit in the UAE. I have also paid around 56K and they are asking me to pay more 50K so that they can immediately start the visa process etc.
The sum would be repaid at the beginning of the work in Dubai.
This is strange because I have never advanced money for a work permit when I worked in Malaysia or Singapore.
Please do assist.
Thanks!

Can my employer force me to pay visa fees if I resign and threaten me with jail?

1
Q: Dear Lawyers,
My employer told me I’ll have to pay him visa fees if I resign. I work for a company based in Ajman, and my boss (an Arab) has high-ranking contacts in the Ajman police.
He said if I don’t pay, the Ajman police will confiscate my passport, take me to court, and put me in jail. What should I do?

The fraudsters allegedly post jobs online or even on reputable websites like #Monster.com or #Naukrigulf.com with too good to be true salaries and unbelievable benefits. Then WITHOUT an interview or fake telephone call interview (which is never done for real jobs in the UAE) provides an offer letter which includes the names and logos of the employer with or without the UAE Embassy stamp and then asks you to pay processing or visa fee to a travel company or exchange companies. The public prosecution appealed a judgment to increase the fine I already paid. What do I do now? 0
Good afternoon,
Thank you for your time.
The public prosecution appealed my judgment (a fine that I satisfactorily cleared) and requested increasing the fine.
Can you please explain what happens during a criminal case appeal hearing for me as a defendant?
Will I be asked questions?
Is the hearing just for the Public Prosecution to present their appeal to the judge, and I do not need to give a response?
Thank you again for your time.

Dear lawyers,
The new employee will start on June 1, 2025. However, he would like to open a new bank account in the UAE thus asking to provide the salary certificate mentioning his salary in AED and if possible not mentioning the start date.
Legally, can the company provide such a certificate?

I received a termination letter from my company on January 31st, 2025, with a one-month notice period, stating my last working day as February 28th, 2025.
The reason given for the termination is "considering the current business scenario, the company has considered measures to reorganize the business."
Could this be considered arbitrary dismissal?
Am I entitled to any compensation or benefits from the company as a result of this termination?

By checking in Al Adheed, I have found there is a marital matter case against me in Dubai Courts. There is a hearing date for next week and the time mentioned in the case status with a link for an online hearing.
However, I have not received any message from Dubai courts regarding this by mail or phone. I have all contact details updated with EID. In this case, what should I do?
I don’t know what the case is about.
Should I hire a lawyer or I can attend the hearing by myself?
Please do suggest options.
