The landlord asks the tenant to evict for personal use without providing a proper notice

The landlord changes the reason for eviction. My landlord tried to evict us last year because he is selling his property.

We did not vacate as he did not send us the legal notice. This year he is trying to evict us because he is willing to use the property for his personal use.

He refuses to renew but he never sent any 12-month notice.

What should I do with him?

Thank you.

Hi,

As per the UAE law, he needs to send a notarized notice for 3 months in advance to you before the expiry of the contract if he wants to use it for his personal use.

Sorry, I wrote by mistake 3 months. Actually, it's 12 months.

He needs to send you a 12-months' prior notarised notice for eviction.

In case you need further details, you can write to us by email.

Yes, he needs to send you a complete new notarised notice for eviction.
