Q: Hi Sir,
My credit card cheque was bounced and I got in jail and paid the fine after the public prosecution hearing, but they did not give me a clearance. They just let me out in the jail.
I would like to ask if I have a travel ban. The bank keeps sending me and for the 8th time that my cheque was bounced again.
Is it also possible that they can repeatedly bounce my cheque? They also threatened me that they will file a civil case a week after the other case was finished.

Clearing a case for a loan or credit card after payment of fine
16
Q: Is it true that the new rules say that paying a fine (which is 10% of the total loan) for not paying loans/credit card or bounced cheques will get someone cleared from loan/debt cases?
After paying the fines, will a police clearance be issued and there is no more obligation to pay the previous loan amount now?
If for example, someone owes the bank a total of AED 35000 late payments and interest, the person only pays a fine of AED 3500 and the case is cleared?

How to make sure all cases/files are dropped and closed?
3
Q: I had a case for a returned check of 3960 AED. Both I and the claimant are currently outside the UAE. I am in the UK and the other party is in Sweden.
I contacted the person through a 3rd party and arranged to repay via Western Union. It was completed. The person assured me once received that the case would be dropped but since then, I have not heard anything.
I need to come back to the UAE soon and am worried about this case. I have all the evidence of sending the owed amount to the person but as I'm outside the UAE.
I need to know what I can do to make sure all cases/files are dropped and closed.
Can you help?

How to request a full check of pending cases for bounced cheques?
3
Q: Hi,
I would like to request a full check of any further pending cases against me for debt (bounced cheques) in both Dubai and Sharjah, this occurred over 10 years ago when I was a resident.
I was arrested upon arrival at Dubai airport in 2008, taken to Sharjah court and had to pay AED 10,000. I actually don’t even know what debt that was for, or if it was a penalty, the debt is gone now.
I do think there are further unresolved problems.
What documents do you require for the investigation?
And can you, in the event that there may not be any further cases, provide a clearance certificate or clear my criminal record?
Sorry, this is a long set of questions.
Also, What would the cost be?
Thanks

Can I travel to my country for vacation after finishing a case and paying fine?

1
Q: Good day Sir/Mam
I have a question.
We/I have been involved in a fight last week, and the police arrested us.
After a week in jail, the Abu Dhabi first instance court released a paper for our fine which we already paid, then we were just released.
My questions are:
Is there a possibility that I can use my vacation to my country?
Is there another hearing session happening after we pay the fine?
Or is there another thing I need to do so I can leave the country temporarily because of my vacation is coming?
Thank you in advance.

If someone has a case in the UAE, can they travel to another GCC country? 0
Hi.
One of my friends joined a Telegram group. They said, "We will transfer some amount to your account, and your task is to transfer this amount to another account. Once the task is completed, you will get 30 or 50 AED per task."
He completed 3 to 4 tasks, but he realized it was not good, so he stopped. After one week, when he opened his account, it was blocked, and the bank said, "We are conducting an investigation; after this, we will let you know."
After some days, he had an accident and went to his home country. He then received a call from a landline number, which was from the Abu Dhabi police station.
They said, "We have received a complaint against you; come to our investigation department." However, due to his surgery and treatment, he could not go.
After some time, his bank account was reopened, and he did not receive any further calls. I want to know, if he comes back to the UAE or goes to any other GCC country, will he face any problems?
If someone has a case in the UAE, can they travel to another GCC country?
Please advise!

I want to open an online shop. Do I need a license to open an Etsy shop? 0
I currently live in Sharjah and have a UAE residence visa but I am not a UAE or GCC national. I want to open an online shop (Etsy or Shopify) to sell handmade items, such as crocheted goods, bookmarks, greeting cards, etc.
Do I need a license to open an Etsy shop?
If so, which license do I need to sell my products online, including UAE and worldwide?
How much would it cost me?
Can I keep my residence visa (sponsored by my father) and not change it?

How can we locate a person with an ongoing legal case? 0
Hello,
I am seeking your legal advice regarding a friend who was previously imprisoned in Abu Dhabi. His case there is now closed, but he has another ongoing case in Dubai.
Currently, we have lost contact with him and are unsure of his whereabouts. How can we check where he is or access any other legal facility?
Are there legal procedures to locate a person with an ongoing case?
What steps should we take to get more information about his status and legal position?
