Will the bounced cheque cases filed against before 2021 be closed automatically?

There are a few bounced cheque cases filed in Dubai police stations before 2021.

I would like to know, are the cases closed automatically as per the new cheque laws, effective from January 2, 2022?

Dear Questioner,

Yes, the bounced cheque cases shall be closed automatically based on the new law.

However, if you are outside the UAE, I would suggest you hire a lawyer to perform a travel ban checking for you so that you will not face any issues once you land in the UAE.

If the person is within the UAE, does he/she need to get a clearance certificate from the respective police stations?

If yes, where can they apply for such clearance?

If the person is in the UAE, I would suggest him/her apply for a good conduct certificate on the Dubai Police App.

If the good conduct certificate will be issued, then that person is clear from the criminal perspective.
