What is the reason for rejecting police clearance certificate after dropping charges?

Dear All,

I'm facing a case since 2013 but charges of breach of trust were dropped. However, I suffer to obtain a police certificate from Dubai police. I applied 4 times but still got rejected.

Even though charges were dropped in 2018 but the same case still appears on Dubai police online portal.

Is this the reason the Dubai police have rejected my application for PCC?

I even have the file of the dropped case.

What can I do in this case?

Dear Questioner,

Usually, you are not able to get a police clearance certificate in the following cases:

1. There are criminal complaints filed against you,

2. You never had an Emirates ID and you did not submit to the CID department the original fingerprint certificate.

I suggest the following:

1. Hire a lawyer to perform a travel ban checking for you to see if there are any criminal complaints filed against your name

2. If there are no criminal complaints filed against your name, then most probably you cannot get the clearance letter because you are in the second case exposed above. In this situation, if you are outside the UAE, a fingerprint card has to be requested from the country you are residing in and have it attested by the UAE Embassy there. A fingerprint card is an official report from the police department concerned, which verifies the identity of a person based on his biometrics and decimal fingerprint. You need to make sure it has the clear and full fingerprint of all 10 fingers.

The original fingerprint card must be sent by courier to the UAE where it needs to be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and submitted to the CID department.

If you need additional information, please feel free to contact me at my email.

Best Regards,

Raluca Gatina.
