Questions & Answers
How can I divorce my husband in the UAE as a non-Muslim expatriate?
I want to divorce my husband after 11 years of marriage due to incompatibility issues.
We have an almost 10-year-old daughter and we are both Indian Christians.
How will the proceedings be and who will get custody of our daughter?
Dear Questioner,
Good morning.
We can assist you to get a divorce from your husband. The UAE law will be applicable.
In regards to your daughter's custody, it should be with you until she gets 13 years old as per UAE law.
After that, if your husband wants to take custody, he should file another case in order to get it and the judge will ask your daughter with whom she wants to continue her life.
Should you have any further inquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us by phone or email.
Thanks

Dear questioner,
We can help you with your divorce case in the UAE.
The daughter's custody will remain with you.
Kindly contact us directly on the phone or by email for a detailed discussion.

Hello,
As per your query, you may file for divorce, and for financial contribution (both for you and your daughter, in the scenario, you have no income) with custody.
Also, there can be joint custody with the full financial contribution from your husband (if you are not earning) or there can be an agreement for the decision of compensation as per the two parties agreed terms for the welfare of the child.
Please call or e-mail us.
