Forcing an employee to continue working till visa expiry
Dear Sir,
I am working as a sales executive in Ajman. My contract is expiring next month ( Dec 2021) but my visa is valid till February 2022.
I am not renewing my current contract. Will my employer force me to continue till my visa get expired without a valid labor contract?

Dear questioner,
Please be noted that if your contract is a limited contract, you may serve a notice of non-renewal, 30 days, prior to the expiry date. Though this is not mandatory, this practice is recommended.
Please check and make sure that no notice period is mentioned in the employment contract. If yes, you shall serve the notice period following the non-renewal notice.
If yours is an unlimited contract, you shall serve resignation and shall serve the notice period as mentioned in your employment contract.
In both cases, your employer cannot force you to continue once you serve the notice of non-renewal or resignation.
