Q: I was persuaded by my friend to put money in an online trading, and he will trade on my behalf and will share the profits.
He guaranteed me that he will trade very carefully and the principal amount will not decrease, but he lost all the money in one night which is AED 35000.
Then he gave me 6 cheques of 5000 each payable after every third month.
Kindly advise how to proceed as he is not ready to pay now.

The legal way of recovering the amount of bounced cheque
13
Q: I got a cheque of AED 220k which bounced. I opened a case with Sharjah police. They contacted the gentleman and his brother told me they detained him this weekend at the police station.
It seems tomorrow a court appeal will happen. I have not been contacted by the police or the person who gave me the bounced cheque.
The proposal according to his brother would be 14 cheques of AED 10k and two cheques of AED 35k (Total 16 months).
If the person leaves the country, will I have issues for the cheques?
If I leave the country to relocate somewhere else, do I have any issue to get my money?
If in the 8months a cheque of AED 10k bounced, what will be the consequences?
Thank you for your kind help.

I had signed a labor contract with the Ministry of Labour which had no "non-compete" clause.

Canceling my MoU and getting my deposit back due to a low bank valuation and overpriced property 0
Hi,
I wanted to purchase a 2-bedroom apartment in JVC Dubai. I gave a 10% security deposit cheque to the seller. The price mentioned in the MoU is very high compared to other similar apartments in the same building.
The bank’s valuation also came in very low. Since the valuation is much lower, how can I terminate the MoU and get my cheque back? The MoU ends on 1st October 2024.
One of the articles in the MoU states:
In the event that the Buyer fails to make the payments as agreed or fails to complete the transfer on the agreed date due to his own acts or omissions, the Seller has the right to terminate this agreement and retain the deposit, provided that the termination is due to a violation of the agreed terms, unless both parties agree amicably to different dates.
I need help urgently.
