Answering the first part of your inquiry - the Punishment and charges for abuse and possession of narcotics.

1- The Charges & The Punishments.

- Possessioning narcotics for the purpose of using it if there is a positive drug test and if the quantity is below the trading weight. "charges here automatically include the abuse".

Punishment shall be "1 month up to 3 years of prison + fine up to AED 10k + deportation and the deportation cannot be removed".

- Possessioning narcotics for the purpose of distribution if there is a positive drug test and if the quantity is higher than using weight.

Punishment shall be "3 years up to lifetime prison + deportation + fine up to 10k AED if there was abuse evidence".

Answering the second part of your inquiry - how long will it take for the first hearing?

It depends on the investigations and interrogations, once it's done then the case will be transferred to the court of criminal matters - the first instance and nobody can predict the timeframe for that.
