How to get married while the Wali is not present in the UAE?
Assalamu alaikum,
I want to get married in the UAE. We both are Muslims. I am from India but live in Canada and the bride is from Morocco.
The bride's father cannot be physically present in the UAE to attend the wedding, I read that he can do a proxy to appoint another Wali of the same religion, can this person be anyone?
And also I have read that if the girl is of good mental health, she can choose not to have a Wali, can this be done in the UAE?

Wa alykom assalam,
Yes, you can make the marriage in the UAE, but the Wali should accept the marriage even without his physical presence in the UAE.
However, marriage cannot be done without a Wali. But there are many solutions if the Wali is not present in the country.

Wlkmslam,
You can marry in Dubai if one of you has a residence visa in Dubai and the Wali can be appointed by the power of attorney.
