Defaulting on the payment of dues and threat in home country
1
Q: Dear Sir,
I was working in Jebel Ali free zone Dubai and I lost my job in 2015 due to company downsizing, and I had a loan from a bank which I was not able to pay off.
I tried looking for a job when I was in Dubai during my visa cancellation process but was unsuccessful. I came back to my home country after, but when I came back and I had an accident and now after recovery.
I was trying to get a job in the UAE and pay back the bank outstanding but no good luck for me. And now, I got an offer from one company in my home town.
I just wanted to know how to handle the above issue after few people visited my home town and said we are from recovery and they are threatening my mother saying they will bring more people to recover the payment.
Kindly advise what the UAE law said regarding the above issue. I even sent to the bank regarding paying back the payment if I will get a job in hometown and get salary in Pak. Rs.
But till now, no reply from the bank regarding the above request.
Please, give your expert opinion.

Can I make a settlement with the bank to return and work in Dubai?
0
Q: Hi Sir/Madam
This is S. H. I got two credit cards from Dubai from two banks. After that, suddenly my visa got cancelled then I went back to India.
I used the total limit of cards. They informed me of a case filed against me. I am blocked at the airport. Now again I am getting a good opportunity to come back to Dubai.
So If I come, how will they treat me?
If they give permission, I will pay the amount monthly wise small instalments.
So please advise me
Regards,
H.

I have a case for unpaid loan and on a visit visa. Will I go to jail if I can't pay?

0
Q: I have a civil case against me. I had a loan of AED 30000 and a credit card total due was AED 19000.
In Corona time, I lost my job and went back to my home country. Once I came back, they made a case against me for around AED 47000.
It's not a bank but a finance house. Right now I'm on a visit visa. What should I do?

Clearing father's 2005 cheque cases - cost and possibility
1
Q: Hi,
My father has a few court cases due to bounced cheques in 2005. He left the UAE before the cheques bounced, which were worth approximately AED 42,000, AED 954,000, and AED 138,000.
His brother was managing the business, which caused cash flow problems, resulting in the cheques bouncing in Abu Dhabi.
Before this incident, he had lived in the UAE for more than 30 years without any problems.
I want to find out if it is possible to clear these cases and, if so, what would be the expected cost.

How can I negotiate with the bank regarding credit card if I lost my job?

2
Q: Hi,
Please advise the below issue with the bank.
I lost my job last 2018, and due to this, I'm not able to pay my monthly dues to the bank. I visited the bank to discuss that I have insurance for my credit card.
But the bank denied that insurance and said to me that I should apply for that insurance after my company finishes my work contract. It takes me 3 months before I visit the bank to apply for the insurance.
The bank sued me in a civil case. I paid the amount to the police. But the bank still forces me to pay the pending amount. I manage to pay per month since Sept 2019 and until Dec 2022.
Again I lost my work last Dec 2022. I'm not able to pay now the monthly dues that the bank required.
Kindly help and advise, please.

Bank filed a civil case over a loan: Better to settle with the bank or in court? 0
Good day, Sir,
I have received a message from the Dubai Court stating that a bank has filed a civil case against me. The loan has been pending since February 2019.
I cleared the cheque bounce case earlier with a court fine in 2019. I am looking forward to a minimum settlement plan with the bank. The outstanding amount was around 70,000 AED, and now the message is for 115,000 AED.
What will be the best way for me to proceed: approaching the bank or dealing with it in court?
Best regards,

Is it legal for my employer to withhold my salary until I leave the country or change status? 0
Hello,
I have given my notice, and my last day is July 24, but the employer is refusing to pay my salary; even the salary for June. Is this even legal?
He claims I'll get everything at once, which is after leaving the country or changing status.

Demanding that an employee pay for visa charges a year after resigning 0
Dear Lawyers,
I worked at a bakeshop here in Dubai. I resigned exactly one year ago. Now they want me to pay for visa charges, as stated in the offer letter.
If I cannot pay for the charges, my employer will claim financial loss due to the damages, estimated to be at least 7,000 AED.
What should I do about this? My monthly salary is only 2,800 AED.
