Q: Hi.
I have filed a court case against my ex-employer for not paying my pending salaries and final settlement even after 4 months of my resignation and serving the notice period, and finally mutually agreed on labour and VISA cancellation.
Today in the court 2nd hearing, the employer's lawyer has given a bunch of documents against which I have to reply. The document mentioned FALSE STATEMENT that the employer has already paid all my pending salaries and even my final settlement.
Also, the document states that I have not provided the required PROJECT'S COST VARIANCE REPORT for the projects which I was handling.
The fact is I have not received my two months salaries and not even my final settlement which includes the gratuity and the leave salary.
I have provided them with all the COST VARIANCE sheets for my projects and I have a mail proof of that. I wish to make a strong reply on this with all the legal terminologies.
The claim amount is AED 60K. Need guidance to prepare a reply. How far my previous employer can drag this case?

Q: Hi,
I have filed a labor case against my employer for not giving my final settlement. A month before my resignation, I agreed to pay for my training an equivalent to 10k.
I have not signed any paper about this agreement. My salary is delayed for 4 months. My only evidence is the bank transaction because they only send my salary by bank transfer.
My salary is 5k a month. When I filed my case in Al Adheed, they said I can get 30k for my 4 months delayed, gratuity, and leave pay. My first hearing is next week. I worked in the company for 1 year and 8 months.
1. Will I need to hire a lawyer for the coming hearing or Adheed will provide me with one?
2. What other things I need to prepare for the first hearing?
3. Can I ask for 3 months' compensation (15k) more since I was not able to start any job as they delayed the cancelation of my visa?

Can anyone help me to find answers to some questions?

Since I am new in Dubai Courts, I had a couple of questions.
I filed a labor case in MOHRE regarding non-payment of gratuity. MOHRE accepted my complaint and they refer me to the court.
I filed a case in court and I am waiting for my case number and date of hearing. Now, my questions are:
1. What would happen on the first hearing?
2. When is the second hearing?
3. How long does a labor case take in court?
4. Can I claim compensation if my employer appeals in court?
5. What will happen if the employer did not attend the 1st hearing?

My question is, where can I get the link for the hearing?
Should I receive it via email?
Also, have they informed my previous employer about the first hearing?

Does the court provide translator if I want to file for divorce as a foreigner?

Q: Salam Aleykum!
I will open a case in Dubai court against my husband for harassment. He has not paid anything for months and I want to file for divorce and all my rights.
I am very worried that the judge will not understand clearly or that I will lose the case because of my accent! Sometimes some people don't understand some of my words.
Is there a translator in the Court who speaks Spanish and can provide it for free? Is that a service?
Due to my terrible financial situation, I cannot pay.

Can I amend my claim to include end-of-service benefits and unused annual leave?

Q: Good day!
I have registered a court case through Al Adheed regarding 7 months of unpaid salaries. I submitted a resignation letter after my complaint, and they allowed me to submit the document in Arabic translation.
In my resignation, I stated that I wanted to claim my end-of-service benefits, salaries, and unused annual leave. I had my first hearing today with the judge and was told to wait for the judgment tomorrow.
Is it possible for me to amend my claim, as I only mentioned my salaries in the complaint?
I also want to claim my unused annual leave and end-of-service benefits. Can you please guide me on how to proceed with this process?

Hi,
I wanted to purchase a 2-bedroom apartment in JVC Dubai. I gave a 10% security deposit cheque to the seller. The price mentioned in the MoU is very high compared to other similar apartments in the same building.
The bank’s valuation also came in very low. Since the valuation is much lower, how can I terminate the MoU and get my cheque back? The MoU ends on 1st October 2024.
One of the articles in the MoU states:
In the event that the Buyer fails to make the payments as agreed or fails to complete the transfer on the agreed date due to his own acts or omissions, the Seller has the right to terminate this agreement and retain the deposit, provided that the termination is due to a violation of the agreed terms, unless both parties agree amicably to different dates.
I need help urgently.
