How to act with an employer negotiating terms for termination a limited contract

Hi

Could you please give me an advice regarding my problem?

I was asked by my employer to stop work but they don’t want to terminate me. They want a settlement.

Because of money negotiations, the process of visa cancellation is pending.

I’ve done 8 months out of 3 years contract and my contract is limited and I finished my probationary period. What should I do?

Good morning and thank you for contacting us.

Please be informed that in consonance with the UAE Labour Law, the employer and the employee can terminate the employment contract by giving a notice of one month which depends on how long the employment has been.

If the employment has exceeded 6 months to one full year, then one month notice period is compulsory. The employer must pay the end of service and gratuity calculated as per the UAE Labour Law.

In case they do not cancel your visa, you can lodge a complaint at the MOHRE.

Please contact us on the phone or by email for further details.

Thank you.
