What to do if your relative is arrested in Dubai
6
Q: My brother arrived at Dubai airport on 05/04/2017. Dubai Immigration authorities detained him upon arrival and sent him to Naif Police Station.
On April 6, 2017, a relative went to Naif Police Station, they kept his passport as a guarantor without providing any information.
Furthermore, I went today to the police station after arriving from Pakistan and tried to meet my brother, however, I was not allowed to meet him. When I inquired about the detention reason, a traffic warden from the police office gave me this case number 2014/4286 outlining it as a detention reason.
It is noteworthy to mention that he was already interrogated briefly by the authorities in this case and was let go without detention. During the course of three years (2014-2017), he has traveled to Dubai on visit visa 4-5 times.
We are seeking help in the above case as we went to Dubai Courts and they sent us to Dubai Public Prosecution but no help.

Bank dues and arrest at the airport

Q: Dear Nikhat,
I have a personal loan with a bank in Dubai. Last October 2016 I lost my job and the company sent me back to my country. Now I have a job offer and visa.
Will I be arrested if I arrive in the UAE?
Due to the job lost only I didn't pay the amount. If possible I can speak to the bank and I can pay the amount monthly.
Please advise me.
Thanks / Regards

Will I be arrested in GCC countries for my UAE credit card debt?
50
Q: Greetings,
I was terminated by my company in May 2016 because they were cutting the number of staff. I had a credit card with 10,000AED that I used fully. I was unable to reach the bank and so far I have never received any call or email from them.
I was struggling with unemployment all this time and couldn’t pay my debt, I have no intentions to not pay because it’s Haram/prohibited in my religion. Recently, I got a job offer in another GCC country and I want to go there and pay my debt using my salary.
My question is, will I be arrested in that GCC country at the airport?
I don’t know if a police case has been filed against me or not, what I know is I am morally obligated to pay my debt and the only way I can do it is if I start that new job, my family is poor and my country has no job opportunities.
I’m afraid to be detained and sent to the UAE, this will not solve the issue, nobody will be able to pay for me and jail won’t solve the problem.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Regards.

Is there a legal way to avoid imprisonment if the court passed a sentence upon me?
3
Q: Hi ,
I left UAE during the financial crisis 2009 because I got laid back by my employer and I could not pay back my bank loan. The bank collection agents contacted me few times but I couldn't reach an agreement with them as I am facing financial difficulties as a single parent for 2 kids currently not working.
l want to go back to UAE for a job offer. A friend checked for me with Immigration and Court. They found that there is a judgement in absentia of 6 months under my name and case filed requesting the amount of the loan plus the interest which I can not afford paying a single portion of it.
Is there a legal solution to sort this out due to 9 years passed since I left the UAE? So I can get a job offer and support my kids and if my financial situation improves in the future I will try to settle the loan. This 6-month absentia imprisonment was issued 6 months ago.

Consequences of missing credit card payments 0
After missing 2 months of payments on a credit card, the bank presented a security cheque on my current account for AED 101,000 and it bounced.
They have said that they have filed a case with the police and issued a travel ban. I have since made a minimum payment as requested and plan to discuss repayment with the collections department.
As a businessman, I travel to other countries. Will I now be subject to a travel ban/ be detained at the airport / taken to prison?

Wrongful use of bank account 0
Hi,
I worked in Dubai for 3- 4 months during 2013 but left the job and left for India.
My bank account was open at that time and one of my colleagues started to use my credit card after I left Dubai without my knowledge.
He added his account to the beneficiary and done some transactions. I used to get some emails from this bank and thought these were some spam or marketing emails and did not give much attention.
But recently, I checked one of the mail and found that my credit is being used, having outstanding amount around AED 12,000. I then checked my old emails and found that these are done by the colleague in that company.
I don't know what should I do. This is a clear forgery act done by this guy in my name. I need take some action for this. Please advise.
Thanks and regards.
