Q: I have a loan with UAE bank: 1 credit card outstanding value is 22,000 AED & one personal loan around 85,000 AED. I lost my job on Jun 2016. From there I unable to pay my EMI (6 months). Bank is not agreeing for settlement plan as per my request. Now they are saying they are going to file a case.Now my doubt, if I get a job in GCC other than UAE, will police catch me in the airport in any GCC? OR arrest is possible only if they file a case in that particular country?Please, advise.

Q: I was jailed for 4 months for not being able to pay a loan from a Dubai bank since I've lost my job in 2011. After my release, I tried looking for a job but was unsuccessful, so I went back to my home country when my visa expired but still the bank is sending emails and threatening me and wants to collect money from me. Now that I am back here in Dubai, they threatened to file a ban against me and told me that I cannot get my visa renewed if I will not pay them. Can the bank do such THING? I already have accepted the punishment of serving jail time since during that time I didn't have a JOB and was totally broke. What can I do so that they will stop harassing me? What does the law say if someone had served the sentence for a bouncing check case? Thanks and hoping to be enlightened. 

Q: What happens if I failed to pay several installments from my personal loan from the bank?  I have not received any warnings or notice to pay, does this mean they filed a case or they must send me a notice first.

Q: Hi! I have a few questions that I hope you can help with. My friend took a loan for his studies and left UAE. He paid monthly settlements for 10 months, each of the payments was around thousand dirhams. But there he didn't find the job and therefore couldn't continue to pay. He asked for a delay due to temporary inability to pay, but this request has been rejected. They also said that police case has been opened against him. Therefore he is asking if there are some chances to solve this and reduce the outstanding amount? Also, can this affect him somehow in travelling purposes? For example, if he goes to UAE or Qatar, can he go there or can he be arrested there?

Q: Do GCC countries have an extradition treaty? If they don't, does the UAE have an extradition treaty with Bahrain?

Q: Good day, Sir, I have one question. My brother in law ran away from his debt with Dubai Islamic Bank amounting to around AED 165,000.00. Now, he is planning to apply for a job in Saudi Arabia. Is there any possible way for us to check if he is banned within the GCC countries? Will he be arrested once he enters the GCC countries? Thanks

Q: Hi everyone, I have left Dubai 10 years ago with unpaid loans in the UAE worth around 1 million AED, I know for a fact that I have a police case against me, but there is no Interpol red notice issued. My question is that if I have a connecting flight through Qatar, will I get arrested at Qatar Airport during layover/connection for my police case in the UAE?

Q: Dear sir/madam, I was having credit when I was in Dubai. I came on vacation during the COVID pandemic. Because of my health issues, I couldn't go back but I have some amount due. I want to pay this amount. In this case, if I will travel to a non-GCC country, is there a risk of being caught? Please advise. Thanks!
