Settling a loan from outside after 8 years
I was living in Dubai in 2013, left with only one bill from a credit card for 30,000 Dirhams.
I got a call after 8 years today to pay the bill. Can you please advise what is the best way to handle this?
Now I live in the US.

Is it a recovery agency or the bank itself who contacted you?
The best approach would be to settle this amount and initiate or continue negotiations with them if required.
In case you do not settle this, later on, if you will need a Police Clearance from UAE or you will be coming back to UAE for holidays or work, you may face issues. It is always advisable to settle disputes in any country you are a resident of.
