7
Q: Dear Sir/Madam,
I resigned from my position after working for 6 months (limited contract) because I was not satisfied and the company was not providing the basic conditions of employment.
The accommodation was not provided as stipulated in the contract, transportation to and from work was not provided, medical insurance was not provided, and my salary was always paid in installments.
I submitted my resignation to serve a one-month notice period, but the company refused to allow me to serve the notice period and instead demanded that I resign immediately.
I have requested that my visa be canceled and my passport be returned to me (which has been in their possession), but they are asking me to pay for the visa costs.
Is it legal for them to deduct the visa charges from my salary that I earned before resigning?
Appreciate your response in this matter!

Denying labor dues upon resignation and demanding visa charges

2
Q: Dear Sir/Madam,
My employer signed an offer letter from a different company, adding a clause stating that if the employee resigns, he needs to give one month's notice and refund AED 5000 as visa charges.
However, I have already signed a contract from another company and received my EID, with no such clause mentioned.
Now that I resign by giving one month's notice, my employer has not paid any salary or benefits even after completing one year and three months.
Additionally, they are demanding AED 5000.
Please advise!

Can a company still deduct visa change fees after issuing a termination notice?

1
Q: Hello,
I was hired in August 2024 by a company in Dubai, and they sent me a termination notice last month, in November.
After signing the offer letter, they informed me that I had to pay for my visa status change, which costs around 1,400 AED. They have already deducted 500 AED from my salary.
Now that they have sent me a termination notice, are they still allowed to deduct the money?

View allThe maximum notice period employers can put in the contract as per the new labor law 0
Our internal contract has a notice period of 3 months from both parties. In the new labor implementation, only one month's notice is required for less than 5 years of service.
Please advise if we can follow our internal contract since the position is very curtailed and the organization will not be able to replace the position within one month.

Annual leave salary calculation as per the new labor law 0
Dear sir/madam,
Annual leave salary calculation as per the new labor law.
Can you please clarify the correct annual leave salary rules?
Some say it is basic + HRA for the month you will take off, others say it is full salary, and somewhere I read it is basic + HRA (annual leave salary) plus the normal salary you get.
Can you please clarify?
Thanks for your valuable time and kind assistance!
