The consequences of using abusive words against a customer

I am in the sales department of a bank in the UAE,

I have used abusive words towards a customer. Can the bank file a legal or criminal case against me if I was found guilty?

This incident has occurred since 20 days. What happens if the customer complained to the police?

Is there any particular time period for registering a complaint? How long it takes for the police to take any action?

Please help!

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your inquiry!

From a general perspective, slander as a crime is considered a misdemeanour which is subject to the statute of limitation of three months from the date of the victim's acknowledgement of the crime.

However, article 10 of the criminal procedural code conditioned that the victim or his/her representatives only have the right to file the criminal complaint against the suspect.

Yet, your employer might take another legal action against you.

Best regards
