Getting a new job offer while there is an ongoing labor case in Dubai courts
Good evening Sir/Ma'am,
Kindly give me a simple answer to my questions which are stuck in my mind.
(1) If I am filing a case against a company regarding my unlawful termination and unpaid dues in DUBAI COURT, and during my case in DUBAI COURT, I am offered a job by another employer, am I eligible to join that company or should I wait 2 months after my case end?
(2) If my case is filed in DUBAI COURT and my new employer is asking for visa cancellation and passport from the current employer, can I get my passport or will they keep hold of my passport until my file case in DUBAI COURT gets finished?

Dear Questioner,
1st Answer:
Yes, you may join the new company by making an application at the court for NOC for work which will be valid for 6 months initially and can be extended for 6 more months.
2nd Answer:
Your previous employer can not keep your passport so in case they deny returning your passport, you may file a complaint with the related police station to recover your passport.
You can not cancel your previous visa during the case proceedings and for that, you can provide your new employer with a NOC from the court.
Once the judgment is passed in your favor, you may cancel the visa and file for the execution of the judgment.
I hope my answer to your query is satisfactory. In case you need further clarification, please contact me via phone or email.
Best Regards,
Khubaib Naeem
