Filing a case against the ex-husband for child maintenance from abroad
Hello,
My ex-British husband lives in Ras al Khaimah, and he has been a resident there for the past 13 months. He is not consistent with the payments towards our 3-year-old child.
Can I file a child maintenance lawsuit against him there?
I live in the UK and we are separated. He works for the Department of Education and receives around 4000£/monthly wages.
How much would that cost me; hiring a private lawyer?
Dear Ma'am,
Greetings!
In order to claim your child's maintenance, you have to file a case against him here of course, in order to preserve the regularity of the payment for your child
We will be glad to offer our help if you provide us with some documents.
The fees shall be 30,000 AED 50% which shall be paid as an advance payment and 50% upon the judgment issuance.

Dear questioner,
You may be able to file a child maintenance lawsuit against your ex-husband but in order to advise you accurately, I need to ask you a few questions.
Please send me details about your marital status, religion, your source of income, and since when you have been separated from your ex-husband, and have you filed any child maintenance case in the UK till now?
Please share the information via email.
Thank you!

Dear Client,
Good day!
It is possible for you to file the case in the Ras al Khaimah for maintenance.
If you have details about your husband... etc., you should provide us with a Divorce Certificate.
And if there's a separation agreement in which the amount he is supposed to pay to his child is clarified, we can explain or we can just file a maintenance case asking for him to support your child.
For further assistance, please feel free to contact us by phone or send an email.
Thank you.
