Failure to pay a personal loan and consequences of the civil case

26
Q: I am an engineer and I was working in a construction company in Dubai where I am based. I have issued a cheque of AED 150,000 for a personal loan with a bank.
Due to the lack of work and the company terminated me for 2 months, I am suffering from my personal loan and the bank filed a case now.
5 months back, they filed a case which I don't know for a travel ban and I was in jailed 4 and half days. After that, I paid AED 10000 to Dubai court after they released me.
I heard that civil cases now are not punishable again by jail sentence like before. Is it true?

Q: Hi Sir,
Please, I need your help.
I had a loan from FGB bank. I almost paid instalments for three years. Now, I am not in that condition to pay. There are 3 instalments due and I am getting calls from the collection and they are about to file a case.
Could you please help me to know the penalty I may get, as my outstanding amount is just AED 24K?
I have an Abu Dhabi visa, and they threatened to file a case in Sharjah.

The management of individual financial affairs is crucial and all the actions must be weighed down while committing to any financial liability. Whether it's job loss that may have lead to financial failure or the opposite, one must be aware of the personal liability which will not diminish by paying fines for cheque bounce cases. There are two major types of liabilities, criminal liability and civil liability. Each has its own significance, hence, must be dealt with accordingly.

Do I need to submit an eviction notice to my tenant of the newly purchased villa while the seller has already sent him notice 2 months ago?
Or as my escrow agent said, it will pass to me?

The rights of the tenant and the landlord in case of early exit from tenancy 0
Hello Sir!
I rented an apartment in a villa in Abu Dhabi 4 months back and paid 4 months' rent in cash and have given three cheques for the remaining rent in advance (4-4 months) one cheque is a security cheque.
We signed a contract for one year. Now because I got terminated from the job, I informed the landlord with one month's notice and evicted the house after 3 months leaving one month's of rent to him as discussed at the time of the contract.
I lived only for 3 months. Now the landlord is not returning my cheques and demanding all the amount of the remaining year and threatening me for filing a case if he bounces my cheque.
I negotiated and he asked me now in the last conversation to pay only for 3 months more and he will give me back my cheques, What should I do?
I can't pay even for the 3 months since I have evicted the house as discussed.
What are my legal rights in such a case and what's the worse I can expect if he bounces my cheques?
Kindly advise.
Thank you

Getting clearance from the bank after settlement of debt 0
Hello there,
I left the UAE in 2015 and I had a loan and credit cards paid one by one and left now with the last credit card with a bank. I was paying minimum account until Feb 2020.
Then COVID-19 hit and I was not able to pay. I contacted bank but no response from their end for settlement.
Now suddenly an agency started dealing with me and asking me to pay around AED 12000 which is very difficult. Please advise.
I paid one bank and got clearance, paid another bank but they are not giving out a clearance letter still after much follow up. What can be done?
