According to Federal Law No. (21) of 1995 Concerning Traffic (amended by Federal Law No. (12) of 2007 dated 19/08/2007), drink-driving is punished by imprisonment and/or a minimum fine of 25,000 Dirhams.
Sanctions for driving without a license may amount to three months of imprisonment and/or a minimum fine of 5,000 Dirhams. In this case, the higher sanction is likely to be applied.
There are known cases of non-nationals deported due to drink-driving.
