Changing the punishment of a bounced cheque case from jail to fine
I have a bounced cheque case which was filed in Bur Dubai Police Station in December 2016 for AED 80,000/-, and in 2017, the judgment was issued in absentia (One-month jail term).
Please note that I have already paid AED 35,500 to the claimant in instalments even before the judgment was passed. Also, this judgment was issued prior to the implementation of the fine system for cheque value AED 200,000 and below.
My question is, can I convert this judgment to a fine without me visiting the police station or will I have to serve the jail term?
Kindly advise on the possibilities.
Dear Client,
Thanks for your query and hope you are fine.
I will definitely help you in this case. I require a power of attorney from you.
After that, I can help you to file the objection to remove the jail term and you will pay fine only. Please send me the case related documents.
