Requirements and validity for marriage of foreigners in the UAE

Hello,

I'm a Muslim resident in Abu Dhabi and my future husband is not resident in the UAE. We both have European nationality and he converted to Islam.

Is it possible to get married religiously in the UAE? What is the value of religious marriage in the UAE without a civil marriage from our respective consulates?

Thank you.

Hi

As you mentioned you both are Muslim, therefore you can marry in the UAE Courts.

You have a residence visa for Abu Dhabi, so you should contact Abu Dhabi's personal status court for marriage.

Here I am giving Dubai Court's requirements for marriage: He needs to present his convert certificate.

One should have a residence visa of Dubai or tenancy contract if he/she has a residence visa for other emirates, one party can be on visit visa.

Presence of the girl's father (guardian) or he should appoint a proxy.

Medical certificate of both bride and groom.

For further details, you may contact me directly by phone.
