How to defer bank payments of mortgage due to COVID-19

1
Q: Good morning
My husband lost his job last year in October after 15 years in Dubai. He continued to pay his mortgage without giving any excuse to the bank till now when COVID-19 happened. He is on my visa. We want to defer mortgage payments for a few months.
Kindly advise what should we write to the bank in this regard as they are demanding the payment now. We received the email this morning.
I would like to mention that we have been paying the mortgage regularly.
Best Regards

Is it possible to postpone bank installments due to salary cut?

0
Q: Hi,
I took a personal loan and have a current outstanding 18 months to pay amounting to AED 63,975. In 2018, I lost my job but still managed to pay my dues until April 2019.
My salary on the new company is lower compare to when I took the loan, and due to current COVID-19, my current salary has been cut further down of 40% and will not be able to pay my monthly dues.
What with be my legal case if I will not be able to settle this outstanding amount?
Your response is highly appreciated.

Settlement with the bank for defaulting on a loan due to COVID-19

4
Q: Hi,
I have an outstanding loan with 97000. I have been always paying and have a good history with the bank.
The loan was given with a salary guarantee from my company. I work for a reputable airline, however, I was just notified a couple of days ago that I have been made redundant due to the pandemic.
I understand the bank will seize my end of service gratuity. That will leave me with around 70000 outstanding. Based on the current market situation it will be hard to find a job on time.
I have an official letter from my company with the reason why my contract was terminated, although my contract is auto-renewal. I have a few questions, if I may.
1- Since I haven’t missed a payment before, when does the bank issue a travel ban?
2- What are my options at the moment? I won’t be able to repay the outstanding unless I find a job.
3- What kind of legal action can the bank take against me?

Settlement with a bank regarding the instalments of a commercial loan
0
Q: A bank offered and granted a loan of AED 500,000 to our company in June 2019. All instalments were being paid till Feb 2020 after which our business suffered a considerable setback due to COVID-19.
Luckily, the bank offered deferment of instalments for 6 months that have ended now but our business hasn't picked up yet and we may not be in a position to pay instalments until we get back on level as before.
Kindly inform us of the consequences if we fail to pay the installments.
Regards
S. S.

View allWhen to claim an inheritance in Dubai while being abroad and which law is applied ? 0
Dear sir/madam,
I would like someone to be honest with me. I am in the UK. How long have I got to claim inheritance in Dubai?
I was reading in the Gulf News that the laws of the country of the deceased at the time of death can be applied regarding the will.
Is this true or false? I am really looking for these two questions to be answered first. Can anyone help me with this, please?

Is it possible to apply a will issued in South Africa in the UAE? 0
Dear questioner,
My father (Muslim) has passed away in South Africa. He leaves behind 4 children, his wife (our mother) and his own mother.
He had a will for South Africa in which, I (oldest son) am executor. The will does state that it encompasses all property and assets wherever they may be.
He has various properties and assets in the UAE. My questions are:
1. Does his will have power in the UAE or will it be divided by Sharia?
2. What documents are required to wind up his estate?
3. What is the wind-up process within the UAE?

How can we access the bank account of a deceased person? 0
My uncle died 2 weeks ago in one of the private hospitals here in Dubai.
We have already completed everything regarding the repatriation of his body with the help of his employer and his remains are already sent back to our home country last week.
He used to give me an access of his ATM card before and I tried to access it just few days ago and I found out that there is some amount of money left on his bank account.
I am aware that he has some pending bank loan requests before he died, so I am afraid that amount might be the reason of such big amount.
Being the only family member of my deceased uncle, what should I do in order to make sure that the amount is from his savings and not from his bank loans?
In case the amount is proved to be his own savings, is there any chance for me to get the authorization to claim that amount from the bank to be used by his family?
He has a wife with 3 kids back home.
Thanks a lot in advance.
