In accordance with the UAE Law of Personal Status, marriage is a legal contract between two people (man and a woman), focusing on protecting the rights of married people and their children. This contract requires certain conditions to be achieved before it becomes valid.
UAE Personal Status Law (also known as Personal Affairs Law) governs marriage, divorce, inheritance and other personal affairs in the United Arab Emirates. The law equally applies to citizens of the UAE and non-citizens unless one of them asks for the application of his home country law.
Hello,
This is regarding a post-dated cheque given by my earlier landlord for the return of the deposit. I had cleared the apartment in May 2019 and he gave a cheque for March 2020.
Now he is saying that the account is closed and he will give cash but is still delaying. Can I deposit cheque and if it bounces, can I file a police complaint.
What do you advise?
Thanks, appreciate it.
