Conditions for applying a vague non-competition clause

Hello,

I would like to know if a non-competition clause also applies when starting a similar business in a niche industry.

My non-competition clause is very vague and does not specify the area, industry and it's for 2 years. Does this hold up? And if it doesn't, could they file a civil case?

Thank you!

Hi,

In order to be able to better assist you, I will require some more details about your situation.

1. What sort of a business is it?

2. Are you still employed by the company? If not, how long has it been since you resigned?

3. Is the company based on Mainland Dubai or in a Freezone?

Also, it would be recommended if we could conduct a review of your employment contract, especially the Non-Competition provision.
