Terminating an employee because of his sexual orientation

Hi,

Are there any grounds of termination if the employer found out that your gender identity or sexual orientation is haram?

Please tell me about the grounds which enable the employer to dismiss me if I do a certain thing or act.

Dear questioner,

Your inquiry is never related to the federal labor law of the UAE. If the employer insists to terminate your contract regarding that, it is because of his personal thoughts.

However, if he tries to do that with you, it will be considered as arbitrary dismissal and he should compensate you with 3 months salary.

Thank you for your answer.

My employer told me that he has evidence that I sent messages to our Production Manager in which I confess to like him. He will submit it to Police and Labor.

Does it mean that I can be arrested for such reasons; being homosexual?

Hi sir,

The incident happened back long ago and I got my termination letter last November. My employer asked me to stay and finish my visa. So I'm still here working for them.

I think they don't have solid proof of my gender identity. That's why they want me to stay until I finish my visa.
