Q: Hi Sir!
Good day!
I have resigned from my company and they served 30 days' notice as per the contract.
Now, I have an offer from a new company but it's urgent, I requested them to reduce my notice to 20 days and will pay for the 10 days left. But they declined.
What actions should I take to grant my request? I haven't used my annual leave and I'm running 11 months.

Possibility of reducing the notice period upon resignation
1
Q: I am planning to resign from my current company in the UAE where I have worked for 6 years.
My employment contract currently states that a notice period of 3 months is required.
I would like to request that this be reduced to 1 month. Note that I got a job offer outside the UAE.
Please advise how to approach the negotiation for the notice period, If they are not accepting the notice period negotiation.
How to take it forward? How to avoid the UAE labour ban if needed to work in the UAE in future?

Prevailing provision in case of conflict regarding the notice period

Q: There it is an unlimited contract in a free zone. The main employment contract states that the employee should render not less than 30 days' notice.
However, an addendum has also been signed by both parties stipulating that the employee should now render a notice for 3 months.
In such a case, which document must be followed, the employment contract or addendum?

Compensation in lieu of notice period in case of reducing the agreed term
1
Q: Dear Jassim,
I am an employee with a private firm on an unlimited contract. I have resigned and my contract mentions a notice period for 60 days, however, I want to serve only 30 days due to other issues.
The company force me to serve full 60 days period. Can I use "compensation in lieu of notice" and pay for the 30 days notice or can they company (if they want) still put a one year ban on me?

How to exit a limited term contract before the end
0
Q: Hi Sir/ Madam.
I'm working as a civil engineer in Fujairah. I renewed my second visa on 26.05.2021.
I'm resigning from my job and submitted one month notice period, but my agreement is a limited period contract and mentioned that:
"Should either party desire to terminate the renewed contract, such party shall notify the other party of such desire within 3 months prior to the date of termination."
Such period shall be similar for both parties. Both parties agreed that the termination wage to be paid by the terminating party to the other party shall be equivalent to the value of the worker's total wage in 3 months.
Such wage shall be similar for both parties. But my company informed me to work for 90 days. Please give me some suggestions to leave easily from the company. I am ready to compensate the company for the remaining 2 month notice time.

I have been working here in the UAE for more than 2 years. Our company notice period is 60 days. My visa status is an unlimited contract.
Are there any possibilities to get out from here in 30 days? I am ready to pay 30 days' salary to the company.

Q: Topic: Pay-out of Notice Period (UAE)
Employer's Question: An employee (who has resigned) does not wish to work his notice period, and the company agrees with this as they see no reason for the employee to work.
Does the company become liable to pay out the employee's notice as this was a mutually agreed decision?
Thank You

Bank filed a civil case over a loan: Better to settle with the bank or in court? 0
Good day, Sir,
I have received a message from the Dubai Court stating that a bank has filed a civil case against me. The loan has been pending since February 2019.
I cleared the cheque bounce case earlier with a court fine in 2019. I am looking forward to a minimum settlement plan with the bank. The outstanding amount was around 70,000 AED, and now the message is for 115,000 AED.
What will be the best way for me to proceed: approaching the bank or dealing with it in court?
Best regards,

Is it legal for my employer to withhold my salary until I leave the country or change status? 0
Hello,
I have given my notice, and my last day is July 24, but the employer is refusing to pay my salary; even the salary for June. Is this even legal?
He claims I'll get everything at once, which is after leaving the country or changing status.

Demanding that an employee pay for visa charges a year after resigning 0
Dear Lawyers,
I worked at a bakeshop here in Dubai. I resigned exactly one year ago. Now they want me to pay for visa charges, as stated in the offer letter.
If I cannot pay for the charges, my employer will claim financial loss due to the damages, estimated to be at least 7,000 AED.
What should I do about this? My monthly salary is only 2,800 AED.
