The consequences of missing loan installments due to salary delays
2
Q: Dear Sir,
I have credit cards and loan from 2 banks, almost AED 85k.
Suddenly, my company is not able to pay the salaries & the last few months we are getting the salary after 50 days.
I am managing my credit card by minimum payments but wouldn't be able to make payment of AED 59k loan now (paid 8 instalments).
Now, I am receiving calls from the banks. The banks where I took loans have my cheques.
What will happen now if the banks present my cheques & bounced?
It's very difficult for me to settle.

Lending money to a client whose debt burden ratio is above 50%
0
Q: Dear Mr. Mazen,
Wish to seek your advice on the below issues please:
1) Can a bank or financial institution lend money or issue a credit card to an individual even though his / her Debt Burden Ratio (DBR) is above 50%? The UAE Central Bank regulation, as per a gazette of 28th November 2013, states that it is not possible?
2) Can a bank or a financial institution demand from an individual a 'blank cheque' (no amount, no date but only a signature of the customer) as a guarantee at the time of issuing a credit card or loan?
Is this practice legal as chances of misuse are possible?
Thank you in advance and looking forward to your response at the earliest convenience, please.
Best Regards,

Can the bank file a second case and travel ban after detention and fine payment?

4
Q: Good evening Sir.
I took a loan in 2017, the amount is AED 60 000.
After 1 year, I lost my job and I couldn't find a job. I left the UAE. In 2019, I returned back to the UAE.
In Dubai airport, they held me for 1 hour and they told me to pay a fine. I paid AED 5000. In 2020 I left the UAE again.
Now I found a job and I'm planning to go to the UAE again but I am afraid that at the airport it will be a problem again.
Can the Bank file a case for the second time? Or is there any criminal case or civil case?

I lost my job a few months ago and the banks are threatening me with legal action

Q: Hi.
I lost my job a few months ago and the banks are threatening me with legal action.
Will they file a criminal or civil case against me for a couple of missed payments for credit card debts of approximately 16k and 30k?
If they did, what would the consequences be on a new visa application for a new job?

The management of individual financial affairs is crucial and all the actions must be weighed down while committing to any financial liability. Whether it's job loss that may have lead to financial failure or the opposite, one must be aware of the personal liability which will not diminish by paying fines for cheque bounce cases. There are two major types of liabilities, criminal liability and civil liability. Each has its own significance, hence, must be dealt with accordingly.

If someone has a case in the UAE, can they travel to another GCC country? 0
Hi.
One of my friends joined a Telegram group. They said, "We will transfer some amount to your account, and your task is to transfer this amount to another account. Once the task is completed, you will get 30 or 50 AED per task."
He completed 3 to 4 tasks, but he realized it was not good, so he stopped. After one week, when he opened his account, it was blocked, and the bank said, "We are conducting an investigation; after this, we will let you know."
After some days, he had an accident and went to his home country. He then received a call from a landline number, which was from the Abu Dhabi police station.
They said, "We have received a complaint against you; come to our investigation department." However, due to his surgery and treatment, he could not go.
After some time, his bank account was reopened, and he did not receive any further calls. I want to know, if he comes back to the UAE or goes to any other GCC country, will he face any problems?
If someone has a case in the UAE, can they travel to another GCC country?
Please advise!

I want to open an online shop. Do I need a license to open an Etsy shop? 0
I currently live in Sharjah and have a UAE residence visa but I am not a UAE or GCC national. I want to open an online shop (Etsy or Shopify) to sell handmade items, such as crocheted goods, bookmarks, greeting cards, etc.
Do I need a license to open an Etsy shop?
If so, which license do I need to sell my products online, including UAE and worldwide?
How much would it cost me?
Can I keep my residence visa (sponsored by my father) and not change it?

How can we locate a person with an ongoing legal case? 0
Hello,
I am seeking your legal advice regarding a friend who was previously imprisoned in Abu Dhabi. His case there is now closed, but he has another ongoing case in Dubai.
Currently, we have lost contact with him and are unsure of his whereabouts. How can we check where he is or access any other legal facility?
Are there legal procedures to locate a person with an ongoing case?
What steps should we take to get more information about his status and legal position?
