Q: My ex-employer put a criminal case on me and I was in custody for 3 days, and finally, the prosecutor closed my case saying there's lack of evidence.
Now, this employer is taking my case as a reference to spoil my reputation in the market. She is going to all clients telling them I am a criminal and not to talk to me and work with me.
She did this when my case was open and even now she continued to do same. I am very disturbed and no one is ready to give me a job because of this.
I have proof that she sent emails stating I am a criminal. I want to file a case against her, can I do this as per the UAE law?

Q: Good morning.
Someone stole information from my phone and is now using it to terrorize my contacts. He saved all contacts, photos and videos, some of which including other people.
He keeps texting and threatening to post them on social media. How do I handle this situation without incriminating the people in the photos/videos?

Suing a person who fled the UAE for Bitcoin theft and electronic crime

1
Q: Dear fellow colleagues,
A client of mine, resident in Dubai, would like to open a criminal case against an expat who is not anymore in Dubai.
The "gentleman" stole 8.3 bitcoins (!) promising a huge return in interest (5% per month, still advertised on the internet), then he stole a client's database with more than 600 passports, phone numbers, signatures...
Breach of trust, theft, IT crime, and so on...
We are looking for a colleague in the UAE to give a POA and open one or more criminal cases, following the case in the court up to the first instance.
The goal is to have a sentence, also knowing that the gentleman is no more in Dubai.
Thank you
Dr W. F.

Action against posting fake and defamatory content on social media
2
Q: A Facebook page has posted fake content against me. Personal details (employment, name, picture) have been posted online along with derogatory comments.
The post is being shared under false pretences wherein it appears that I have posted comments against other religions. I would like to confirm that I haven't posted this content and you may check the same in your records.
I would also like to bring to your notice that the admin of the page is also encouraging the general public to report my profile to relevant authorities.
The post has been posted on twitter, shared over 700 times on Facebook and I am continuously receiving abusive messages. A police complaint has been made.
Please advise on how to proceed.

The consequences of using abusive words against a customer
3
Q: I am in the sales department of a bank in the UAE,
I have used abusive words towards a customer. Can the bank file a legal or criminal case against me if I was found guilty?
This incident has occurred since 20 days. What happens if the customer complained to the police?
Is there any particular time period for registering a complaint? How long it takes for the police to take any action?
Please help!

How to file a case for defamation and ruining business reputation?

1
Q: Is there any legal action I can take against a person for spreading false hearsay stories publicly which are false and not even linked to his company & he never checks with me on the true facts?
The background story: I have legal negotiations and proceedings going on with a company that signed a business deal (between companies) with my company registered outside the UAE.
While all this is ongoing legally, I get to know that the employee of this company with whom I am legally negotiating the disputed contract separately has gone and spoken to my ex-employer's CEO (as they are good friends) and they have started telling rumors and wrong facts in the market making everyone think that "I ran away with the money".
This is ruining my reputation with friends and ex-colleagues with whom I worked for a decade and also in the industry I worked in generally in Dubai.
I do have at least 3 people who have come forward and told me about these stories from the same ex-employer.
Appreciate guidance.

View allTerminating an employee after sick leave and claiming compensation 0
Hello,
My employer fired me under Article 44 for not showing up for work for 7 days in a row. But that’s not the case at all. I was sick and the management was aware and they let me go.
I went to another country to get treatment because it’s expensive in Dubai. My employer did not pay me my salary for the month I worked and fired me.
I have official sick leave from another country and there is correspondence where my employer sent me to another country for treatment.
The problem is that the employer says that he will take compensation for the training that was specified in the contract, but I did not undergo training at all; I immediately started work from the first day of work and there was no training.
Does my employer have the right to charge me such a fee and not pay my salary?

How to make the seller hand over the tenant's security deposit to the buyer upon completing a sale? 0
Should the seller in Dubai hand over their tenant's security deposit to the buyer upon completing a sale?
Who is responsible for managing this process?
At the time of the exchange, the broker said he would follow up with the seller and collect the deposit.
He hasn’t, and the seller has not handed over the deposit.

How to cancel the MoU to buy an apartment with the broker if the bank did not approve the loan? 0
Hi,
I have a situation where I signed an MoU and gave my security deposit to the seller's agent. However later, the bank valuation of the property is lower than the selling price.
On my MoU, it has a clause that “the buyer has a right to cancel/negotiate if the bank valuation is not the same as MoU.” I tried to negotiate, however, we didn't agree on the price so I asked to cancel.
Now the agent is threatening me that they will not cancel the MoU and that will deposit my cheque. Later I also came to know that the person I am dealing with is not the same person whose name is mentioned as a broker in the MoU.
The agent I am dealing with is constantly messaging me with threats. I decided not to speak to him and instead, I wrote an email to the broker whose name is mentioned on the MoU but received no response.
I am on a very tight timeline as I need to vacate my apartment in 3 weeks, I found another unit but I don't know if I can pursue this while the initial MoU still not canceled.
Please, I need advice.
