How to handle civil case proceedings from outside the country

Dear All,

If a civil case is filed against a person who is outside the country, can the court reach a verdict without the presence of the defendant?

Also, will the defendant be able to provide the information required to support the case investigation to defend himself/herself by being outside the country?

Please provide me with the details.

Thanks!

Dear questioner,

It is possible for you to defend yourself while you are outside the country. For this, you need to give a power of attorney to a lawyer who can represent you in the UAE courts.

Kindly contact us on the phone for a detailed discussion or write to us at our email for further assistance.

Hi,

Regarding the first part of your query, it is possible for the court to deliver a judgment without the defendant.

To defend the case, the defendant can appoint a lawyer here in the UAE for which he needs to execute a Power of Attorney in the name of the lawyer.

For further assistance, please feel free to contact us on the phone or send us an email.
