Dealing with a civil from outside the country

Hi,

A civil case is filed against a person who is outside the country. Can the court reach a verdict without the defendant's presence?

Also, would he has the chance to produce the MOU and support with details for the investigation of the case i.e. a bank loan default case?

Lastly, if the person is in the country can he defend the case in court without a lawyer?

Dear Sir/ Madam,

With reference to your query, please be informed that upon full notification duly served by the court, the court may reach a judgement in the absence of the defendant.

However, the defendant, upon arrival into the country, may want to defend the judgement upon that excuse.

Furthermore, a person can defend his/her case in court without a lawyer, however, proper documents translated into Arabic and written Arabic statements need to be submitted to the court.

Dear Younis,

Thanks very much for your swift and precise response.

If the case was not initiated by the defendant, then would the defendant be required to pay the court fees before the status of the judgment?

Despite the claimant already paid and initiated the civil case?

Apologies if the above query sounded absurd.

Thanks again for your time and consideration.
