Paying the salary of an Emirati employee while joining the military forces

What should an employer do if an Emirati employee joins the military forces while being in service?

Does the employer have to pay the salary if the Emirati worker leaves the company to join the military forces?

The employer must keep his job open for him to join back and the time he spends in the military will be counted for the EOSB.

If the Emirati leaves the employment with no intention to return, the employer is not obligated to pay him the salary. But it would be advisable to take this down in writing.

However, if he has merely done his mandatory military services, you are obliged to keep his job open to him. But no salary is required to be paid.

We will keep the job open but regarding the salary payment, some people say that we have to pay him, others say that no need to pay or 50% of the salary should be paid.

Please assist us in telling specifying the article which explains this.

Is he leaving your employment permanently or only for the 2 years that are mandated under UAE law?

He will be continuing with us after the mandatory 2-year military service.

In that case, he is still on your rolls and he should be paid his salary.
