Traveling to the home country when a bounced cheque case is pending

Hi sir,

There was a cheque bounce case in Sharjah police station a few months before the police catch me.

My passport was kept there and I get a kafala. Right now, I need to go to my country for an emergency.

Is it possible to replace my passport? What are the maximum days it will take?

Dear Questioner,

How much is the amount of the bounced cheque?

In case the cheque amount is below AED 100,000, then you can pay the fine, get the release letter and exit the country.

In case there is a jail decision issued against you, you can request the police to replace your passport with a guarantor passport.

Actually, I was caught approximately more than 10 months and after I didn’t get any call or message from the police station, I did not know whether any judgement was released for my case.

So in that situation also, can I travel and come back?

Dear Questioner,

I advise you not to travel unless you hire a lawyer to perform a travel ban checking on your behalf.

I can perform the travel ban checking on your behalf based on a POA. I can provide you with the draft and with the instruction for notarization.

If you wish to proceed, please send me an email with a brief of your case and with the passport copy, visa page copy, and EID copy.

I am looking forward to your email.

Best Regards,
