Q: My insurance company (Oman Insurance) took 22 days to get an estimation of the reason being major damage. I inquired for a total loss and they said no as there was no chassis damage and the estimate was awaited. On the 24th day, I received a total loss offer letter from Oman Insurance asking to sign and acknowledge. I accepted the offer and sent back the document. 2 days later the garage told me that they were working in the car based on the word of the estimator in spite of no LPO. Oman insurance calls me and says that there was a miscommunication and the garage brought down the repair charges from AED 50000 to AED 20000 and that they will now proceed to fix the car. I did not agree with them as I found that the car had a chassis damage. Oman Insurance changed tune all of a sudden to the car only having minor damages and the chassis will be fixed. Can the insurance company take back an agreement on free will when an offer is accepted and has the company signature, seal and trade license?

Q: I took insurance policies with a reputable company. There is initial contribution period of 2 years, wherein you cannot withdraw or touch your own money. Both policies started around April 2014 and I paid diligently until October 2015. The monthly contribution is around AED 2100 per month. I stopped the other plan briefly then continued to pay until around April 2016. Because of more financial difficulties, I was not able to pay my monthly contribution starting April 2016. My financial adviser said that my money is still there until maturity. When I checked again, my policy is gone along with my contribution. The call centre agent said it went to the charges. I have another plan, which is also untouchable at the moment. The financial adviser did not tell me anything about it. I want to complain about the insurance company, as well as the broker where my financial adviser works. Is there any legal way to recover that money? I hope you can help me.

Q: I entered an agreement to purchase a machine and made a 50% down payment 90 days earlier with a company in Sharjah. The agreement was to have the machine delivered within 45 days. The company has been stalling and being vague with no clear official communication on when it will actually deliver the machine, in spite of me constantly following up. When they do reply and give an expected date, that lapses with no communication from them and I have to once again keep following up. This is now affecting my business operations. What are my options to cancel this order and get a refund on my advance who should I raise a complaint with?

Q: Good day! I've had an accident a month ago and I took my car for repair and have signed a paper to proceed for repair under the advice of my insurance company. After 1 month, I checked the status of my car and the repair shop asked me to transfer my car to another shop. I drove my car for transfer I noticed that my car has some humming sounds, and it is shaking/having some vibration when it is accelerated to 60. I informed the shop and they said it will not be under insurance. Now, what I am asking from my insurance company is to just make my car roadworthy and without the vibrations/humming sound but they are refusing as they are saying it was because of the normal wear and tear and not because of the accident. But before the accident, my car didn't have any issues like what it has now. My question is, do I have any right to ask the insurance to make my car roadworthy before it is released from the repair shop? Thank you
