What to do against company layoffs due to cost cutting?
My company wants to lay me off due to cost-cutting but they hired new staff.
Until now I have not received any formal notice of termination, only verbal.
Can I file a case against my employer?

Dear Sir/ Madam,
Thank you for reaching out to me on this.
Firstly, I would advise that you get the termination letter from the company stating you are terminated due to cost-cutting or whatever reason they may give.
Secondly, take that letter and file a labour complaint before the Ministry of Labour or free zone authority (depending on if you work in mainland or free zone).
You can claim up to three months salary as compensation towards this dismissal as its deemed to be wrongful in nature.
Be careful to collect the letter as verbal termination will be difficult to prove in the court of law.
