The consequences of staying in the UAE after the end of the grace period

I am in my grace period after my residence visa cancellation. Is overstaying after the grace period illegal?

If I stay paying fine till my new visa gets finalized, how will it affect me? Will I face any ban?

Please advise!

Thanks!

Hello,

There is a 30 days grace period after UAE residence visa cancellation. If you will not leave the country or change your visa status within this time, you will be liable to pay the fine.

As long as you are ready to pay a fine for the days you have overstayed, your visa application may be accepted. But we advise you to start the visa application process within 30 days grace period.

Hello,

For now, you will not face any penalty. Once your grace period is over, you will be charged 25 AED for each day you overstayed.

What you need to do is explaining this matter to your new employer to clear things from your end and make him pay the overstay charges.

Even if there will be a ban, it's also manageable to be removed.
