Travel ban, credit card payments and possible consequences of default
My friend is telling me that everything is now connected with the Emirates ID.
And once it is cancelled or your visa is cancelled, all connected banks will get a notification, and the bank will cross-check in their system regarding that person's dues, fines, loans.
If they found it, they will take immediate action in order to stop that person from leaving the UAE, is this true? Is there any reality in this fact?
I do not have any loan, I am paying my monthly minimum credit card payment. Does the credit card bank get to know that I am leaving because my visa/emirates ID is now cancelled? Will they stop me at the airport?

Dear Questioner,
Yes, your Emirates ID is connected with all the government departments of the UAE and also associated with your bank accounts and credit cards.
However, if you are paying your credit payments on time and you haven't missed any of the payments yet, that is very much unlikely anyone will stop you at the airport while exiting the country due to a travel ban as that is required for the visa change purposes. So you may travel.
But, please note that if you are planning to leave this credit loan behind, the banks after 2 to 4 missing payments will initiate the criminal proceedings against you, and whenever in life you try to enter the UAE again or take transit flight from the UAE, they will detain you.
Also, they might appoint a debt collection company/law firm in your home country who may create problems for you to recover the outstanding amount. So I highly recommend thinking before taking any further steps.
