Working for a less salary in the probation period
Hello,
Is it legal to have a lower salary during the probation period and a higher after passing probation? (it is a hidden way of making the employee pay for visa).
Also, is it legal to ask a future employee, not on their visas to produce work for them (without salary)?
Thank you
Regards
R.

Dear Questioner,
A probationary period usually gives both parties an opportunity to explore the job and the performance of the employee.
Some employers will offer a lower salary and an increase at the successful completion of the probation period which is not against the law.
It is illegal to work without a proper visa. Penalties would apply to both the employer and the employee.
Good luck.
