Ijari Registration

I can’t reach my landlord to renew the tenancy contract for the apartment I rent for more than three months. What can I do in this situation? I need an Ejari registration to renew visas for my family.

You can go the Land Department at the Rent Dispute Committee (RDC) and deposit the rental amount there (cheques or cash) and they will provide you with the new tenancy contract which you can afterwards use for Ijari registration. The RDC will give you a receipt for the cash/cheque received from your end which the landlord can collect any time in the future.

I have my landlord's telephone number only, no email, fax or postal address. How can I support my claim? Do I need to provide rental committee with documental proof of my attempts to contact the landlord?

No, you can simply advise them that you are trying to contact him with no reply and that you want to renew the contract thus depositing the rent amount so they provide the Ijari.
