Pursuant to your queries, if you are willing to file a divorce in the UAE, as a wife you are entitled to alimony and maintenance for yourself in accordance with the Personal Status Law of the UAE.

The husband must maintain his wife and children in accordance with Article 63 of the Federal Law No. 28 of 2005 Concerning Personal Status (the 'Personal Status Law').

MAINTENANCE: Under the UAE law, a woman can claim compensation for maintenance (SUBJECT to the laws of the country which entitles her to the same until she remarries), and compensation if her husband has not supported her for the last year of their marriage, and for moral damage as a result of being divorced.

It is your legal right to get a proper valuation of every aspect of your life and it is your husband duty to look after you. If he failed to do so, you have every right to claim your maintenance.
