Q: What happens if I failed to pay several installments from my personal loan from the bank?  I have not received any warnings or notice to pay, does this mean they filed a case or they must send me a notice first.

Q: I was jailed for 4 months for not being able to pay a loan from a Dubai bank since I've lost my job in 2011. After my release, I tried looking for a job but was unsuccessful, so I went back to my home country when my visa expired but still the bank is sending emails and threatening me and wants to collect money from me. Now that I am back here in Dubai, they threatened to file a ban against me and told me that I cannot get my visa renewed if I will not pay them. Can the bank do such THING? I already have accepted the punishment of serving jail time since during that time I didn't have a JOB and was totally broke. What can I do so that they will stop harassing me? What does the law say if someone had served the sentence for a bouncing check case? Thanks and hoping to be enlightened. 

Q: I got a call from Jebel Ali police station as I have a bounced cheque there for 60k with FGB and they want me to go there this morning. I have been told there is a new policy that allows bounced cheques cases to be resolved at the police station. When the police officer called me he assured me that it can be resolved there within the day. Is that true? What will happen when I go there?

Q: Hi, I got a text message from Dubai Police stating the following: 'The holder of ID n°xxxx has been circulated. The concerned person is kindly requested to refer to Jebel Ali police station as soon as possible.' What does that mean, do I have to call the police station and do I have time until Sunday to do this? Please advise if possible. Thanks  E.

س: تم استدعاء زوجتي من مديرية الشارقة مع عدم ذكر السبب، وأُعلمنا أنه في حال عدم الحضور سيتم التعميم عليها. قامت زوجتي بتأجير شقة باسمها لأخيها لمدة سنة، وعند مغادرته الدولة نهائيًا، لم يُسلم الشقة للمؤجِّر أو يُعلمه بإخلاء الشقة ولم تعلم زوجتي بذلك إلا عند اتصال المديرية بها. نعتقد أن هذا هو سبب الاستدعاء. ما الإجراء القانوني؟ وهل سيتم حجز زوجتي في حال تنفيذ الاستدعاء؟ وهل يجب علينا الآن دفع مبلغ الإيجار لسنة ثانية بالكامل؟ هل أستطيع أن أكفل زوجتي؟ علمًا بأنني إماراتي وهي وافدة. وماذا يحدث في حال عدم استطاعتي توفير المبلغ المطلوب في الحال؟ أرجو الإفادة ولكم جزيل الشكر!

Q: Hi, The police called me for a legal case filed by someone against me. They took my phone and AED 5000 deposit to release me after taking my statement. They told me that they will call me on Sunday, but to date, I did not receive any call from them. 1) How can I get my mobile? 2) If I am traveling next week and the police call me in between, then how can I keep safe so that I can attend the case after traveling back?
