Will the daughter of a debtor be arrested while entering the UAE?

My friend is planning to visit the UAE this coming August, however, she has hesitations that she might be held in immigration due to her father's debt 10 years ago.

I'd like to know your thoughts on this.

Thank you

Nobody shall hold responsibility for another person, so she is not responsible for any act committed by another person.

The daughter is not liable for the debts of the father.

Only the person who has borrowed the money, or persons if it is a joint loan or credit card, have liability for the repayments.

If there has been a guarantor for a loan, not something we see often these days, the guarantor is also fully responsible. Any liability does not extend to other family members.

Regards.

Thank you very much; your promptness is appreciated.

Lastly, since they have the same name as her father, would she be questioned by the immigration?

Only the person himself (father) is liable for questioning. Liability does not extend to her.

Dear Questioner,

Based on the situation exposed by you, she should not face any problems in the UAE. However, if she wants to be 100% sure, we can perform a travel ban checking for her.

If she wishes to proceed, please send me her passport copy and a brief of the case on my email address rg@elnaggarlegal.com

Best regards,
