Questions & Answers
Can voice recording be used as evidence in a domestic violence case?
Dear Sir/ Mam
Thank you for contacting us.
Please note that recording conversations whether through a phone call or voice recording requires the knowledge and consent of the other party.
I do not recommend you to do so without getting the approval of the public prosecutor or the police department, after explaining your complaint or conflict with the person you wish to record the call with.
It is illegal to record any conversation if you did not ask the other party's consent.
Regarding your question, if the content can be used as evidence in the court, it depends on the conversation and the party's statement.
If it is evidence of a crime, the court or the relevant authorities may accept it.
If you need further clarification please do not hesitate to contact me directly through email or phone.
Regards.
