Cheque bounce to supplier and its consequences in Sharjah

Hi,

I have a cheque bounce case in Sharjah for AED 141,000.

Will the case be automatically transferred to the court?

Can I pay a fine to close the criminal case and settle later with my supplier?

Thanks

Dear Sir/ Madam,

Thank you for reaching out to me on this.

The case may be transferred to Court at the discretion of the Police, and it depends on a case to case basis.

You can make an application to transfer the case to Court, but the same is at your risk as in Sharjah you can be exposed to a penalty in terms of imprisonment.

Sharjah does not have laws like Dubai where you can get away by paying penalty in terms of fine.

I would advise that you settle with the supplier and make him/her withdraw the case or hire a legal representative to clear your case.
