Q: Hi, I already filed waiving my labour case with my employer, I also dropped my labour compliant to my previous employer done at Tasheel. They told me to wait for the approval of cancellation and then I can cancel it at the immigration. I already told my previous employer that I dropped the court case (but it has to be notarized at Dubai Courts which I'm not yet doing it). They are not still withdrawing their labour complaint against me and they want me to go with them, but I don't want to see them because of their wickedness. My question is, is it okay not to communicate with the previous employer even though my cancellation is in the process? Will it affect me until I get the cancellation?

Q: Hello, How are you? I won my labour case on the date of 8 Jan. In the judgment, the company should give me AED 10,000. Today my boss called me and told me to take AED 3000 and cancel my employment visa. Otherwise, he will appeal to the court and reopen the case and take more than 1 year. Q: I want to cancel my visa as my new employer has a policy to accept only the people having cancellation papers and they are not accepting NOC for the temporary work permit. I have a pending labor case against my current employer as they are not paying my final settlement. In case I will drop my case for visa cancellation, can I reopen it later on?

Q: Is there a method for a litigant to make a settlement offer during the middle of litigation? I have a lawsuit that has entered into appeal stage. The opponent informed me that he wishes to make a settlement offer. Can this be done via the court or is it out of court settlement? If via the court, please guide me on the procedure to show the court the settlement offer and get it approved and made into an Executive Writ.

Q: I filed a complaint to SHAMS regarding unpaid salaries. My employer drafted a contract saying I should drop the complaint within a week. If I fail to do so, they have the right to do it themselves. Is this acceptable?

The law promulgates UAE Civil Procedures Code (Civil Procedure Law) which governs civil procedures in the United Arab Emirates, including the prosecution before the courts, litigation and execution.

The provisions of this Decree-Law, known as "New UAE Labor Law", govern labour relations in the private sector of the United Arab Emirates. The New Labor Law repeals the previous UAE Labor Law (Federal Law No. (8) of 1980).
