You can definitely work whilst you are on your husband's visa in the UAE, however, you do need a special license to work as a freelancer.

You will need to obtain a trade license with regards to your business activity from the relevant authority, depending on the nature/type of activity you are willing to conduct.

You would also need to obtain a NOC (no-objection certificate) from your husband. Obtaining a freelance license is not a complicated procedure and it takes usually from 7 to 10 calendar days.

It is a simple procedure which you can do it yourself, however, using a business setup specialist or a lawyer is always a wiser, more sensible and efficient option, as setting up a company in the UAE can - sometimes - be a very time-consuming and draining process if not done properly.

To summarize: you need a license to work as a freelance whether you are on your husband's visa or even on an employer's visa and you will need to get the required license to practice as a freelancer in the UAE.

Hope the above clarified your query.
