Leaving the country without settling debts
Hello Sir,
I would like to move to Qatar very soon, however, I have credit card debts in the UAE.
Please give an advice that I can move without settling credit card debts.
If so, will I be arrested in other GCC countries due to the non-settlement of debts in UAE?

Dear Sir/ Madam,
Thank you for reaching out to me on this.
You can leave the country as long as there are no cases registered against you.
However, I would not advise you to do so as the bank will bounce your security cheques (assuming you have issued to them) and register a police case in UAE.
As long as the criminal record stays on your name, you run a risk of arrest while travelling.
I would advise that you issue a power of attorney to a friend or a lawyer in the UAE so that when such police case is registered, your power of attorney holder can represent you before the police and pay a fine and clear the case.
Please note that payment of a fine is not the same as paying the outstanding amounts.
I trust you will find this helpful.
